What is Queers for Dinner?
Queers for Dinner is about creating new friendships based on a mutual love of good food and good conversation. Queers for dinner helps organize meals by picking delicious, local restaurants and invites awesome LGBTQ folks (and allies) to sign-up and hopefully meet some new amazing people! Queers for Dinner is currently based in Toronto, Canada.
Queers for dinner is not affiliated with any of the restaurants at which meals are hosted. |
How Does It Work?
|
Each month, Queers for Dinner helps to organize meals at local restaurants. The dates are posted on the website with details on the location, payment options, and washroom situation. Once you find a meal you like, simply sign-up and write a short bio to introduce yourself to other guests. Guest bios will be posted to the web page for the meal they are attending, so you can see who will be coming to dinner! Each meal will have no more than 4-6 guests so that people get a chance to talk to each other. Queers for Dinner will e-mail each guest to confirm the meeting place and time before the scheduled date. Meals will last one to two hours depending on the guests at each meal.

What Can I Expect When I Go For A Meal?
|
Breaking The Ice
Each dinner will have a "host", someone who will greet guests and help get the conversation started. So be prepared to tell us about your favourite place to visit, the most recent book you've read, or the only movie you could watch thirteen times. Once the host has helped get the discussion started it's up to the guests to keep things going! Click here to meet the Queers For Dinner hosts. A La Carte, Family Style, and Buffet... Oh My! Depending on the restaurant guests may have the option to order their own meal, or to share food with the other guests. Before ordering, guests will decide together how they'd like to enjoy their meal. Paying The Bill Each person will be responsible for paying for their own order including food, any drinks and gratuity (tip). If food is shared between guests, each person will pay an equal portion of the food costs and tip. Drinks will be paid using separate bills. Your Part In Creating A Great Experience Each guest has a role to play in making sure that everyone has a good time, this includes being respectful of each other. Queers for Dinner has created some simple Dining Table Rules guests are expected to follow to help everyone have an great experience |
